Job Description

Kratos is a trusted global satellite ground systems, communications monitoring, RF interference detection and network management company. Kratos is in the process of evolving and growing our SATCOM enterprise service management product offerings to better serve our government customer base.  We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Support Engineer!

The Customer Support Engineer will work closely with internal project teams and customer engineers to analyze and develop solutions to complex system problems on fielded equipment.  The qualified candidate has demonstrated taking a high level of initiative to ensure customer requirements are met.  This individual will participate in test plan development and execution and will serve as the primary technical customer interface after products are delivered. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work alongside project team engineers to understand products; support product testing and serve as customers’ technical interface after delivery

  • Assess, troubleshoot, repair and document hardware issues on returned products for a variety of customers

  • Perform and document production-level testing

  • Assess failure trends and work with product teams to develop corrective actions when necessary; document corrective actions and update engineering documents as required

  • Develop, coordinate and publish customer notifications regarding products (e.g., troubleshooting documents, EOL notifications, product change notices, technical bulletins, etc.)

  • Participate in meetings with project or product teams and customers as required to keep all stakeholders informed during resolution of high impact customer issues

Experience and Skills

Required Experience:


  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.  Exposure to satellite telemetry, tracking and control architectures, data encryption/decryption, serial data systems, networks, digital signal processing, and/or embedded systems desired but not required

  • Experience working with a team comprised of diverse disciplines (hardware, software, firmware, manufacturing, configuration management)

  • Experience working with various hand tools and electronics troubleshooting tools

  • Software application/development (C++, Java, Python) and hardware development experience a plus

  • LabVIEW/TestStand experience a plus

  • Excellent verbal and technical writing skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to identify, propose and implement solutions

  • Experience troubleshooting electronics hardware

U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance is required.
