Job Description


Primary Essential Job Function

  • Assemble moderately complex electro-mechanical sub-assemblies and assemblies, (no soldering) per drawings and special instructions

  • Install sub-assemblies into training devices per drawings and special instructions.

  • Performs minor “fabrication” requirements.

  • Work with shop management and other company personnel to insure the timely completion of assigned tasks.

  • Ability and experience in using various hand tool appropriate for the position. Some examples of tools frequently used are-Dial Calipers, Hand Notcher, Helical Insert Tool, Cleco Pliers, Machinist Combination Square, Protractor and Center Finder, tap and drill block, safety wire pliers.

  • Experience with mechanical assembly and integration. 

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and bills of materials

  • Must be willing to travel

High School Diploma or equivalent

Two (2) years experience in manufacturing environment, preferred 

Ability to use hand tool appropriate for the position

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings

Work effectively and relate well with others

Good verbal communication skills




Shop Floor environment / shared workbench or workstation

Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, keyboarding, using small/large tools)

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Ability to tolerate constant noise (machine motors – large fans)

Ability to work safely in the presence of hazardous chemicals and hazardous conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or sit for long periods of time

The employee frequently is required to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance

The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and speak or listen
