Job Description

Provides Classroom andSimulator Aerial Gunnery Instruction and Weapon System Subject Matter Expertise for Enlisted Aircrew Students attending the Kratos Aircrew Training Center.



  • Instructs students on all flight engineer/crew chief duties of the UH-1 helicopter for both academic and simulator phases.

  • Provides feedback/critiques during all phases of operations.

  • Supervises students during flight procedures and ground training. Instructs students on UH-1 weapon systems, equipment, limitations, and emergency procedures.

  • Demonstrates maneuvers for all required simulator flights.

  • Ensures each mission is conducted safely and efficiently by managing the crew resources.

  • Records each student's progress in the grade book


Experience and Skills


Minimum 5 Years as a qualified Enlisted Aircrew on Rotary-Wing Platforms.

  • No clearance is required for this position.

  • Experience and technical knowledge of the following specific areas: Internal Loading, Weapons, Tactics, Helicopter Operations, Aerial Gunnery, Night Systems, Tactics, Ground Threat Reaction.

  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English and Spanish language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar

    • Must be fluent in Spanish

  • Deductive Reasoning — the ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

  • Proficiency in the use of all applications within the Microsoft Office Suite.
