Job Description

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Performs various financial analyses that lead to profit improvement. Responsible for development and analysis of standard costing, manufacturing variances and manufacturing expenses and for accuracy of inventory and fixed assets.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare job cost inventory calculation to include current revenue, costs, profitability and customer advance/progress payment/milestone balances to ensure matching of revenue and costs on monthly financials for FFP contracts and repair contracts

  • Analyze changes in product design, raw material cost, manufacturing methods or scope of work and determine implication on program cost

  • Prepare Estimate at Completion worksheets (EAC), Job Status reports and any required information to ensure accurate EAC’s 

  • Review selected programs with management to ensure accurate profit margins for monthly inventory job cost and revenue calculations

  • Conduct supplementary studies and analysis not included in the general accounting system reports

  • Post to the inventory journal and review inventory asset accounts to ensure accuracy of monthly transactions

  • Prepare inventory reserve calculations for  unused or obsolete materials

  • Assist in the month/year end book closing processes and procedures

  • Write, maintain, and improve procedures, as necessary, for optimal efficiency and continuous improvement

  • Must be at assigned worksite during assigned hours 100% of time; less PTO, FML/STD/LTD

                                                                                        

    Other Job Functions

  • Audit inventory process annually to ensure end of year asset inventory balances reported are accurate

  • Assist or lead bid and proposals or contract audits by customers or government DCAA/DCMA

  • Conduct audit and acceptance of indirect rate reviews at the closeout of each fiscal year

  • Manage and provide appropriate training for respective department employees

  • Other duties may be assigned

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:  

    This position is responsible for Accounts Receivable Specialist(s).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

HS Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years of general accounting experience, Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or related field with a minimum of 7 years related experience is preferred

Advanced experience in the use of a wide variety of computer applications including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database management systems, and related enterprise systems

Experience working with government contractors and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) is strongly preferred

 

 WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Office environment

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time

Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones)
