Job Description

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Administer production workmanship training program to include initial certification, re-certification, re-work techniques, and remedial training.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop, implement and instruct workmanship training program

  • Review, evaluate and provide training relating to production rework relating to IPC standards

  • Assist with the development and maintaining process control procedures

  • Assist machine operators, assemblers, technicians, engineers, inspectors, purchasing, drafting, etc., in problem resolution

  • Review statistical process control data and develop remedial training while pursuing long term corrective action for identified opportunities for improvement

  • Provide guidance to engineering in the development and manufacturing of first article products and programs

  • Provide annual re-certification training of all assembly personnel

  • Identify training necessities and formulate and conduct training as needed

  • Must be at assigned worksite during assigned hours 100% of time; less PTO, FML/STD/LTD

     

    Other Job Functions

  • Document training and maintain accurate training records

  • Assist in the development of manufacturing processes and methods

  • Assist the manufacturing effort to ensure that products are produced as effectively and efficiently as possible

  • Other duties may be assigned

Experience and Skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:   

Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards

Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors

Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary

Ability to adhere to workplace rules

Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, basic schematics, work instructions and component identifications

Working knowledge of military standards and specifications as they apply to the manufacturing of product for DoD

Ability to work with minute parts and demonstrate finger dexterity while using tools of the trade

Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

HS Diploma or equivalent

A minimum of 5 years of IPC training experience

IPC Instructor Certification

Basic level of MS Excel and MS Word

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Production environment

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time

Ability to perform repetitive motion (use of arm-hand steadiness, finger dexterity, manual dexterity for small parts assembly, frequent use)

Ability to lift  up to 30 pounds

20/20 vision and color vision with or without corrective lenses
