Job Description

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Liaison between product administration and test technicians facilitating warranty and non-warranty work, repairs, rework and/or upgrades.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Review returned unit records for previous failure or corrective action documentation

  • Verify unit configuration status and necessary ECN for incorporation

  • Determine warranty or non-warranty requirements

  • Review work instructions, drawings and required documentation for repair processing

  • Coordinate repair actions with test technicians

  • Schedule, maintain and document status of  units throughout cycle of service process

  • Conduct final quality inspection of repaired goods for shipment to customer

  • Must be at assigned worksite during assigned hours 100% of time; less PTO, FML/STD/LTD

     

    Other Job Functions

  • Perform electronic assembly operations on assemblies, subassemblies, wire harnesses and unit assemblies

  • Other duties may be assigned

Experience and Skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:   

Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards

Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors

Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary

Ability to adhere to workplace rules

Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, basic schematics, work instructions and component identifications

Ability to work with stripping tools, wire cutters, soldering equipment, degreasers, and other tools of the trade

Ability to work with minute parts and demonstrate finger dexterity

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

HS Diploma or equivalent preferred

Successful completion of IPC Solder Training and Certification within initial 3 weeks of employment with 5% or less defect rate on solder certification board

Successful completion of Rework Certification

Intermediate level of MS Excel and MS Word

Working knowledge of MRPs preferred

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Production environment

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time

Ability to perform repetitive motion (use of arm-hand steadiness, finger dexterity, manual dexterity for small parts assembly, frequent use)

Ability to lift  up to 30 pounds

20/20 vision and color vision with or without corrective lenses
