GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Mechanical Engineer, Thermal Analysis is responsible for the development of new tactical unmanned aircraft. Assignments will require experience with thermal analysis procedures including hand calculations and thermal finite difference lumped parameter (thermal resistance network) modeling. Mechanical Engineer, Thermal Analysis will take the lead to plan and execute analysis tasks, and propose design solutions, and present results to management and to military and government customers here at KUAS.
Security Clearance:
May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires BS degree in Math, Physics, Chemistry or Engineering.
6 + years related experience in related engineering discipline.
Thermal engineering experience is required, including familiarity with thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer
Preferred Experience:
Experience with modeling and post processing packages such as Thermal Desktop is a plus.
Experience with Fortran programming for use in MSC SINDA models is a plus.
Experience with thermal test design and model correlation is preferred.
Experience with Patran/Nastran or other Finite Element Method FEM for structural analysis is preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Frequent outside contact with customers and suppliers.
May work extended hours or weekends.
Employee may generate, handle, manage, or work around hazardous materials and hazardous wastes.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
May travel to support new business development and customer maintenance and travel to other KUAS locations.
