Quality Supervisor

Job Description

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Assure the quality of all entrusted products and assure respective personnel operate within the guidelines of the Quality Statement Policy.  Evaluate and determine best practices to improve quality processes while assuring safety, ISO9001/ AS9100 and other required standards are maintained during all operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Perform Inspection analysis

• Complete process audits

• Oversee the receiving and In-process inspections

• Coordinate collection of inspection data and analysis of data results

• Monitor inspection trends and assist in corrective and preventive action

• Generate failure summary reports for returned product

• Interface with visiting customer inspectors

• Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering on process corrections and improvements

• Review engineering change notices, purchase orders, and product drawings for approval

• Identify inspection methods and standards

• Coordinate inspection coverage and identify priorities

• Determine inspection tooling requirements for procurement

• Provide and control inspector stamps.

• Must be at assigned worksite during assigned hours 100% of time; less PTO, FML/STD/LTD

   

  Other Job Functions

• Interview and select qualified personnel for department vacancies

• Identify training needs and provide training for applicable personnel

• Assist inspection efforts as needed

• Work independently without supervision

• Other duties may be assigned

   

  SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:  

  This position is responsible for managing Quality Technicians and Receiving Inspectors.

   

Experience and Skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:   

Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards

Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors

Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary

Ability to adhere to workplace rules

Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally

Proficient with PC

Ability to identify, use, and provide training on standard measuring tools of the inspection trade

Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, drawings, parts lists, wire lists, and other related engineering documents

Understanding of shipping and receiving, receiving inspection and final inspection

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

HS diploma or equivalent, some college preferred

A minimum of 5 years of experience as a quality technician and a minimum of 3 years of experience supervising

Experience in ISO9001/AS9100 quality system environment

Experience in ANS1-ASQC-Z540/MIL-STD-45662

Experience in J-STD-001, IPC-A-610/620

Experience in IPC-600/MIL-P-55110

Experience in ANS1-ASQCZ1.4/MIL-STD-105

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Production environment

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time

Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding and small hand tools)

Ability to lift  up to 30 pounds

20/20 vision and color vision with or without corrective lenses
